We are incredibly proud to announce our sponsorship and support for Weldmar Hospicecare through the local art trail, ‘Stampede by the Sea’. This fantastic event will bring together communities, schools, and talented artists across Dorset, showcasing a herd of around 50 beautifully designed elephant sculptures placed along a unique art trail stretching from Bridport and West Bay to Lyme Regis.
Running from 28th March to 27th May, highlights the important issue — the ‘elephant in the room’ — of palliative care. Weldmar Hospicecare provides vital, compassionate care for adults facing life-limiting illnesses and support for their loved ones. Last year alone, Weldmar supported more than 1,500 people in Dorset, completely free of charge, thanks to their incredible team of healthcare professionals, carers, and therapists.
Through our sponsorship, Dorwest Herbs will directly fund Weldmar’s Inpatient Unit for a full 24 hours, a service that touches so many lives within our community. Additionally, at the end of the event, each unique elephant sculpture will be auctioned, raising further crucial funds for the hospice.
Our elephant sculpture, affectionately named ‘Herbie’, has been expertly designed by local twin sisters and talented children's illustrators, Rachael and Philippa Corcutt. Reflecting our passion for pets, Herbie showcases delightful dog-themed artwork, depicting scenic coastal walks we know and love in Dorset. You’ll be able to visit Herbie from 28th March and even scan his QR code for a special treat!
